Company Overview

There are developers, and then there’s Sandstone Developments / Sandstone Hospitality Developments (a.k.a SSHD). We challenge the status quo by providing tailored strategies for real estate, hospitality, and brand-related investments around the globe so your project becomes the best that it can be – regardless of its size. This translates into operational efficiency, long-term value and maximum return on investment for you, our clients. As a partner, SSHD draws on its wealth of real estate, hospitality, and design experience to help combine solid asset management practices with innovative, market-driven solutions for your new or existing project.  SSHD operations are structured as a cohesive unit intended to provide owners, partners, and clients with an efficient structure and qualified team to manage all aspects of design, development, and hotel operations or as we like to say “Everything Hospitality”.

SSHD was established in 2007 as an organization to advise, manage, design and co-develop numerous commercial projects within the hotel / hospitality / mixed-use sector of primarily dense urban markets.  Current and recent projects include the ground-up development of a 76-room boutique hotel in Austin, TX, 80-room boutique hotel in Houston, TX, redevelopment of a 20-room hotel in New Orleans, LA and 56-room boutique hotel in Miami Beach, FL, and ground-up development of the 108-room Boro Hotel in Long Island City, NY.  Additional past projects of the key principals also include 125 Greenwich Street, Soho Tower, 730 Fifth Avenue, and The Getty in NYC, The W-Hotel and Residences in Miami Beach, FL, The Setai Hotel & Residences in Miami Beach, The Cipriani Resort in Miami Beach, The Ritz Carlton Resort in Miami Beach, The Soho House New York, The James Hotel Chicago, Alila Hotels & Resorts, Aman Resorts, Morgans Hotel Group, The Fairmont Tamarack Resort in Idaho, and the Marriott Hotel in Mobile, AL.
